Embry Riddle Aeronautical University 90th Anniversary Celebration Banquet

On Friday, October 2nd five couples from the PAAC were invited to the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University 90th Anniversary Celebration Banquet.  Seated at the banquet after positioning their cars along the entrance to the building for the viewing of banquet goers were Sheldon and Jacque Bates and their 1929 Desoto, Scott and Carol Hein and their 1918 Buick, Tom and Kate Anderson and their 1940 Buick, Gary St. Amour and Pat Brooks and their 1932 Rockne and Gerry Williams with his 1948 Nash.  Everyone was dressed in period garb and of special note was the excellent gangster themes of Sheldon, Jacque, Tom and Kate.  It was a fun evening with a delicious meal and a moving dedication ceremony honoring some wonderful people, all of which were Embry Riddle graduates, including a Marine aviator with 200 combat missions in the F-18.  The evening concluded with an outside fireworks display worthy of the Fourth of July.
The next day approximately eight PAAC vintage vehicles plus the firetruck were displayed on the Embry Riddle Flightline during a two hour plus air show featuring at least five aerial performers including Ms. Patty Wagstaff, three time U.S. National Aerobatic Champion.  A free pancake and sausage breakfast was also provided.  All in all it was an exciting and fun filled weekend for the PAAC members that attended.  Thanks to all of you for bringing out your cars for the public to see and admire.  Those showing their cars on Saturday were Don Small, Sheldon Bates, Tom Holden, Bob Hinshaw, Scott Hein, Gary St. Amour, Mel Schmal and Jim Chatham's pickup driven by Fred Volpe.  Thanks also to Jim and his wife Christy (Shotgun) who braved the chilly ride from Prescott out to the airport.

Christmas Party and VA Gifts

We finished our year with a well attended Christmas party and by distributing gifts to resident veterans at the VA Hospital.

The efforts made by leadership together with participation and work of the members made this year, our 45th, a very successful year. A video was made that shows some of the people involved and some of the events of the year. Click the player below to watch. Please do not copy the music to respect the copyright.
